Sewer Certification Process
Effective April 1, 2023
Prior to the sale or refinancing of a property, a sewer certification must be requested from SWDCMA.
This request must include confirmation that the seller authorizes the release of their SWDCMA account information for this sewer certificate.
The fee for the sewer certification is required in advance and is as follows:
$25.00 for certifications required within 5 days
$10.00 for certifications required after 5 days
On your company letterhead, please mail in your request for a sewer certification with the appropriate payment to:

The following information is required to receive a sewer certification:
- Property address
- Seller’s Name
- Buyer’s Name
- Buyer’s Address, if buyer will not occupy the property being purchased
- Date of Settlement/Closing
- Title Company (Name, Address, Phone, Fax and Email)
- Requestor’s Name including Agency/Company Name (Name, Address, Phone, Fax and Email)
If you are unable to provide all of the information above, you may provide the following to receive a sewer certification:
- Title Report
Failure to provide all of the required information listed above will result in your request being put on hold until the information is received.
